I need help with pest control...Riddex?

Question:We just moved into a new apartment and I understand that roaches are a part of apartment life, but we need to get rid of them. They are not bad and to be honest there is only one place we still see them. I can't take the spray - it kills my head. I was thinking about these Riddex things you plug in, has anyone ever used them? Would they work in an apartment?

Answers:
Boric acid is applied as a dust in wall voids, paths along which the roaches travel, and other hangouts. It's organic, generally safe, and should be used if the rest of your home has already been thoroughly treated for maximum effectiveness. A benefit of boric acid is that cockroaches will transfer dust from roach to roach, reducing a hidden roach metropolis into a ghost town. If you want to know the grizzly details, boric acid eats through cockroach shells gradually, taking anywhere from a few hours to a few days to kill the suckers. Some people use baking soda instead.

Use a chlorine tablet or any type of tablet in your toilet. Roaches need water to survive. By placing a chemical in your toilet, you set a trap. If they ingest it, they will be poisoned. You can also keep the toilet lid closed prevent them from ingesting.

You can also look into setting a insect bomb off inside the apartment. You can set them off before going to work and by the time you get home the smell will have disappeared, just follow the instructions on can/box.

Vacuum well and often. Clean floors, furniture, walls, cabinets, moldings, baseboards, etc. Sponge mopping floors is very useful, too.
Wash hard washable surfaces with cleanser (ammonia and water works well).
Dust out of sight spaces with boric acid powder. Dust and seal any cracks and openings closed with caulk.
Use roach baits near hiding places like behind pictures and wall hangings, under sinks and undersides of furniture.
Check for roaches that may still be there with (sticky) glue traps.

I hope this was helpful,Good Luck! :)

i dont know about riddex, but if you sprinkle baking soda around that will get rid of them. you could put it on a paper plate or napkin if you dont want to sprinkle it right on the carpet or floor.
I have used those plug in things...They suck to be honest. They just do not work. However they have those little roach bait trap thingys. I think Combat makes them and they work really well. No spray no mess except for the dead bugs laying around.
