Does anyone know how to get rid of that funky smell from a garbage disposal?
Question:Ive tried running ice cubes through it, baking soda and vinager. Im at my wits end. I have a pretty good nose and its getting annoying.

Pour some bleach down the drain that will help reduce the smell. Could be a mold and the bleech will kill if off.
Then use hot water for the next few days when you use the dispoals to keep the system clean.
Ask the municipality to remove garbage regularly
I use ice and lemon peels. Run the disposal with this several times a week and it keeps much fresher. Ice chunks out the crud and the lemon oil disenfects and refreshes.
I know at my house we take an orange and slice it up and run it through the disposal. This provides a nice orange scent and will hopefully take care of your smell. Give it a try.
use cut up lemons 2 or 3 should work
use lemons cut them into small pieces and run about two of them trough the disposal.
We have found citrus fruit works the best. Cut the fruit in half or quarters, depending on the size, run the disposal until the fruit is gone. The citrus smell will last for a couple of days. lemons and limes work the best. ice will sharpen your blades. if you want something more there are some disposal cleaners on the market.
As many others have said, use lemons, either sliced, or at least halved. Kind of depends upon how strong your disposal is. The citrus scent will clear the air, and the citric acid will help clean the disposal. Enjoy!
At the store, usually a store like home depot or Lowes they sell these garbage disposal tablets that are made from oranges and they are real concentrated , either that or try running lemon with the rind down it. Good Luck
I use one lemon cut up and about three tablespoons of baking soda. Grind it for about thirty seconds then let it sit for a min or two, that lets the baking soda soak up smell. Finish grinding it up and you should be good for a week or two depending on how much food you put in there. Just try to never put potato peels or too much starchy foods in there they tend to stick and clog the disposal more than other foods.

The peelings from a citrus fruit like oranges or grapefruit leave a nice scent, but pull the splash guard out and clean it. You'll be amazed at how dirty it is.
Take the plastic flap thing out (the flap where you put the food down) and clean the underside of it. It gets a build up of scum from the garbage. I learned this from a maintenance man at a apartment building.

Does yours have rubber thick gasket on the top where the disposal goes in the sink.Take and scrub around it well.if you can pull it out completely wash then soak it in vinegar.Take a cup of lemon slices and ice and put them in the disposal and run them thru together..
