How often should I run the dishwasher in a week?
Question:My family consist of 4 adults, My father in law cooks once a day, my mother in law cooks twice a day. My husband and I we cook about 4 times a week. My father in law is the one who is stuck at home all day.
On weekdays all of us eat breakfast and dinner at home, My husband, my mother in law and I bring our lunch in 2 tupperwares.
On weekends its breakfast and dinner only. The only things we use disposable are the plates and forks, the rest (cups, spoons, knives, bowls, spatulas etc) are washable stuff.
The largest pot we use a week is about 6in height, and 12 in diameter.
So with this description, how many times a week should we use our dishwasher? Thanks!

Since you're using paper plates and forks, I think every 2-3 days would work, unless you run out of pots, pans and drinking glasses. I only run mine when it's full, but that's every other day with my family. Also if the dishes inside start to stink, then run it.
I've had a dishwasher before and I ran it when ever it was full.
one time at night.
sounds like with all the cooking you do you should run it everyday or use paper plates
I run mine when it is full or I am out of silverware or plates. Makes sense to save all the water & soap & wear & tear on the dishwasher to only run it when it is full. If it gets full in a day run it once a day. If it only gets full once a week run it once a week.
I also rinse my dishes & silverware well before putting in dishwasher so they are not sitting there for several days with dried rotten food on them all that time.
But with all the cooking going on in your home you may need to run it more than once a day if it fills up more than once a day.
Run it when it gets full, you run out of dishes, or it starts to smell. Whichever comes first.
Use "when full run load"rule for it.If it is only glasses and other utensils it should do.I bet you have large sets of utensils for that reason...
