What kind of dye is best to use on 100% polyester?

Question:Dylon did not take. Rit did but the shades are not exact. Like navy blue comes out purple.

Answers:
Polyester does not dye well; in fact, you might say it doesn't dye at all. Please read http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/dispersedye... for some information on what you're trying to do. You may not have much success.

what are you trying to dye? your fabric may have a finish on it that is making it hard to dye. i'm not familiar with brands of dye, but you can probably search and see if there are any that specialize in synthetic fibers. i'm pretty certain that the fiber content would not have that drastic of an effect on the dye...but then again i could be wrong...
