How do you keep your house clean?
Question:Do you do one room at a time? Do you spend a certain amount of time everyday? Or do you try and do it all at once?
Answers:
After I vegetate with my morning coffee for a hour or so,I usually put clothes washing first.
While the clothes wash, I usually pick up the morning dishes and do the kitchen.
Second is usually my living room, which is right off the kitchen.
I then pick up my room and my kids rooms. (they pick up, but every one knows it's not like mom does it).
After everything throughout the whole house is picked up, then i grab my can of pledge or whatever I am using at the moment and start dusting (if needed) from the back of the house to the front, including ceiling fans when they need it.
The windows i do only if i see smudges or dust on them.
I wipe walls about once a month as my husband and myself are both smokers.
The bathrooms are done everyday.
Last I vacumn. I do have this strange habit of when i vacumn though, all the carpet is vacumed in one direction though..lol
After everything is done, usually all my clothes are washed and dried. thats when i take a TV break and usually watch TV while folding clothes.
Note: I do vacumn and pick up everyday, but dust maybe once a week if that sometimes. It all depends on if i see dust.
Get the kids out! That is the first step.
Then organize the clutter. Clean the bathroom and kitchen, then dust and vacuum other rooms last. Then take out trash.
I have recently found that it is better to spend 10 mins or so each day to "hit the high spots". I found that if I let it build up to the weekend, I would feel overwhelmed or just down right unmotivated.
I have found that the best way to keep your house clean is to use a maid service. :-)
how often you clean depends on how many people, pets, etc you have in there as well as how quickly dust forms in the house.
You should try to clean the mirrors and picture frames first. dust the furniture next. sweep, vaccume or mop the floors last.
make it a habit of always putting everything away right away. and stop junk mail at the front door. i have a schredder and waste paper bin very close to my front door and i grab it as it comes thru the door and get rid of it immediately.
At least one day a week I clean house really good and spot clean other days between. One thing I am a stickler about is having the dishes done and put away with cabinet tops wiped down good before we go to bed each night! I can't stand when my kitchen is messy!
I try to keep it neat, and the kitchen clean, then I get fed up with the little details I didn't get and then: I do all the dusting, in all the rooms, do all the floors, webs etc, and then I have the tendency to roam from room to room.
Right now, I am in a training period with my children. They are learning how to clean, before the are teenagers! Sometimes this is really hard . and take allot of patience. Particularly with the laundry. Oh and the way they leave thier shoes in front of the door. ..
Isn't it amazing how much we begin to understand our own partents after we move out, and when you have kids ... bingo the light goes on!
LOL
15 minutes every day in a different room, the kitchen always gets half hour after dinner.
Every night before I go to bed, I walk through the house and pick up everything that isn't where it is supposed to be and put it away. That takes care of the clutter problem, which is usually the worst part of the housework. Then I do my big cleaning, bathrooms, vaccuum and such on Thursday evening so the house is presentable for the weekend, when you usually have guests. But really, the key is to clean as you go, don't let the dishes sit overnight, wipe up after yourself in the bathroom, etc, then the house never gets really bad for cleaning day.

everyday for bout 3 hours total i use quick wiper (dry wipes) and clean up clutter. every 3 days, move all the furniture to one place then i can vacuum all the rooms, use wet wipes w/ the quick wiper and spend bout 2 hours cleaning the kitchen. also i take and pat out all the floor mats and seat cushions and put it in the sun for a lil. then after putting everything bak inside, i would fabreeze everything and finish off by wiping my windows.
