You should go to Consumer Reports to get this answer.

I use a Black and Decker Iron. It's several years old, but works fine.

I hear that Rowenta makes good irons.
Things to look for with good irons:

1. Burst of steam feature

2. Stainless Steel soleplate, not a Silverstone soleplate. Those are terrible for irons.

3. Large water window

4. Automatic shut-off
Actually any steam iron with teflon bottom. I use a Sunbeam Steam iron with teflon bottom so it slides better. I always have a gallon of distilled water which I use to refill a smaller water bottle (the kind with a drinking top that pops open when you pull up on it - my son finished drinking all the water and had discarded it.) which I keep near my ironing board and use to fill the iron. After I finish ironing, I alwys empty all the water completely and leave the little door open to air. That prevents my iron from ever clogging and sputtering.

Cotton blouses, spray with starch and then steam iron and it stays pressed longer..
