How do I get was crayon off of synthetic carpet?

Question:I've tried using an iron over brown paper but it is too hot for the carpet. Any suggestions?

Answers:
First freeze it with an ice cube so it is really brittle--similar to what you would do with gum. Chip as much of it away as you can with a metal tool like a small putty knife, butter knife, etc. You should be able to get most, if not all, of it off this way.

If not, or since you melted it already with the iron, get a dissolving solution from your hardware store (or WalMart) like SpotShot (this is a spraycan). That should take care of the rest.

Good luck!

Peanut butter. Rub some in and dab it off with paper towel. Once most of the crayon is out wash it with a little warm soapy water and dab dry with more paper towel.
This also works for chewing gum, wax and any oil based stains.
Safe for carpet and environment, anything and everyone has peanut butter.
This tip is from a mother of two young messy kids.

We probably don't remember the first time our crayon slipped off the paper and onto Mom's new rug. But if the stain removal tips shown here weren't used, chances are that we can still see it.

Remove Crayon Stains From:

Acetate, Burlap, Fiberglass, Rayon,
Rope, Silk, Triacetate, Wool/nonwashable

Gently scrape (the method of using a scraping tool to gently lift off excess solid or caked-on stains) to remove excess matter. Place an absorbent pad under the stain and flush (the method of applying stain remover to loosen staining materials and residue from stain removers) with Afta Cleaning Fluid. Allow to dry. Repeat if necessary.
Every mother's dream in a spray bottle: Dissolve-It. It's like $3 or $4 at Walmart in the cleaning supply isle. It will take crayon off carpet, also blue bubble gum (made a believer out of me), lipstick, the sticky part of a price tag off a picture frame.the list goes on and on with this stuff! Check it out and read the label!

If you attempted ironing crayon with a brown bag you may have set the color into the carpeting. If you are unable to remove the entire stain using Dissolve-It, get one of those home dry cleaning kits (like Dryel in the laundry isle) that comes with spot remover solvent. (I recommend everyone have one of these kits because accidents and children go hand in hand!) Just follow the directions and dab-dab-dab that stain away!
Goo Gone may work but it is kind of greasy so I would do a small test patch to make sure it doesn't stain. DiDi 7 may work if you can still find it. Another options is Awesome cleaner available at the Dollar Tree. It is really strong and cost a buck.

You could always move. (joke)
I use a product called "Sol-u-mel" It is a great product that I get from a company called Melaleuca. The site is www.melaleuca.com. You can purchase it right off the internet as a direct customer, or you can give me a call and we can set you up as a "preferred customer" and save 30-70% off the price of that and other products. Sol-u-mel will get even paint and finger nail polish off the carpet, so I know crayon shouldn't be a problem. It won't damage your carpet or the environment. Email me for more info if you would like.. adkwahu@yahoo.com
try eucalyptus oil.
