How do you keep sharpie marker from fading on a shirt?
Question:Well a few months ago I got a t-shirt signed by one of my favorite bands. I have only worn the shirt two or three times since butt I have been afraid to wash it because I don't want the signatures to wash out. What would be the best way to prevent this? Soak it in something before I wash it? Hand wash it?
Answers:
Handwash it in shampoo--it's the best way to keep it from coming out.
In the future, don't have shirts signed with a sharpie. They make special pens that won't fade, but sharpies always do.
you can't, it will always fade
u can't, buy the right utensils for what you want to do.
just try to be very careful
dont wash it at all it will erase!! and stop wearing it to keep it clean!
it's quite impossible, unless you buy transparent fabric paint and paint over it.
It's going to fade the minute it hits water. You might want to get some black dye meant for staining clothes and trace over it while you can.
No matter what it will fade, the best idea is for you to get the shirt framed like sport Jersys.
Do not use bleach or any hard cleansers..just do a slow cold wash will only a little detergent and you will be OK..as long as it is permanent marker. If it is not permanent well...you are screwed
I would hand wash with baby shampoo in cold water and hang to dry, but not in the sun that will make it fade quicker. then try not to wear it, as much as possible. It will fade over time but if you are careful it will take a long time to wear off, mine took 6 years and then I didnt care anymore that it was faded off. I hope this helps
