Can you machine wash a down comforter?
Question:I know you can machine wash the cover but can I wash the actual down comforter in the machine. I don't have time to wait for the laundry mat. and i want to keep it nice in fluffy? Any technique/possibilities/tricks...

If you have front loading washing machine you can. The agitator in a top loading machine will tear your comforter apart.
You must also use clean white canvas shoes to dry it. It will help the feathers to fluff up again.
i have a TOP loader, and i use it for 3 different ones here. have not had a problem with doing it this way.
If you have your own washer then fill it with cold water and soak the comforter in it.Then spin out and fill with cold water and softener and let soak again.Then spin well and put in the dryer,I wash tennis shoes and dry them with my comforter,fluffs up well.Before you do anything check to see if you can machine wash it.Good luck.
