How can I get limescale off my taps?
Question:
Answers:
I use white vinegar to clean my taps with. Pour some on a cloth then wrap it around the tap. Leave for a while, then when you go back to it, most of it will wipe away.
Use an old tooth brush.Might work Sorry X Cindy
Acids. I've been able to scrape it off with a knife. Hydrochloric based cleaners work the best on calcium based stuff like lime.
I heard something about white vinegar but I haven't tried it.
I think you put it on and leave it covered for a few hours under a plastic bag or something.
Then of course rub it.
HI, MY NAME'S BARRY SCOTT! HAVE YOU TRIED CILLIT BANG YET?
Viakal is the best limescale remover for taps - it is really thick so you can pour it into taps & it doesn't just run off.
There are some very good chemicals on the market that will work well, eg., Cilit Bang and LimeLite gel, but if you're eco-friendly then you may want to try the good old fashioned cleaning methods. The vinegar tip is a good one, and you could also try lemon. Bottled or fresh lemon juice is really effective for cleaning and to remove limescale from taps, just rub with lemon juice, then rinse after a few minutes (not suitable for plated taps); it really does work. (If you're using fresh lemons, cut one in half and rub cut side over problem areas). Lemon is also good for cleaning wooden chopping boards and half a lemon placed in the fridge will keep it smelling fresh.
Soak a cloth in White Vinegar and place on the limescale for a few hours then remove cloth and clean off the limescale with some hot White Vinegar and a old toothbrush to clean around edges and where you can not get with a cloth or sponge, do not dilute vinegar just use it undiluted to clean off limescale, Vinegar will not hurt your taps and will make them clean and shiny and will also disinfect them and remove any residue of soap or cleaners, they will sparkle, and vinegar has been touted as being the best disinfectant in the world Good Luck !
cut a lemon in half then use each half and push round the taps , tape on and leave overnight. In the morning the limescale will have dissapeared.
Have you tried with Viakal ? this works well
