Ink from marking pens can be difficult to get out. Here is an option for those plagued with either permanent or non-permanent ink stains. Pretest the fabric for colorfastness before attempting to remove the stain.

Sponge the affected area gently with a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent.

Blot with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.

Mix 1 tsp. of a neutral detergent with 1 c. lukewarm water. Blot the stain with this solution.

Dab with rubbing alcohol and blot.

Sponge with clean water and blot again.
If the stain does not come out, consider bleaching it with hydrogen peroxide.

I've always used hairspray. It seems to dissolve the ink right away. Then launder the item.

Hand sanitizer and isoproplyl alcohol work too.
Do not wash in hot water - this will set the stain forever!

Your everyday "hair spray" will remove ink from your clothes. Just spray stained area well, wait a minute or so, then rub good with a damp cloth of dish liquid soap and it will come out. Then wash or dry clean as necessary.
HINT: Put a piece of cardboard under cloth with stain, so it doesn't soak through to the backside.
