UH OH! Discovered plumbing leak & MOLD in my carpet! What product will kill mold & not damage the carpet?

Mix 3 tablesppons of vinegar, 1 teaspoon of borax, & two cups of hot water in a spray bottle & give it a few good shakes...Use a scrub brush to work the solution in the stain.Let it sit for a few minutes, and dab dab dab until it feels dry. Repeat once more & rinse with water. Dab dab dab more & you're good to go.

Since bleach is used to kill mold spores, I would think your carpet and padding are ruined, and will need to be replaced.

I have heard that vinegar helps kill mold. Also, please call a carpet co. in your local area to see if that would damage the carpet. I don't think it would. But just to make sure. Take care.
