Where does wet dog smell come from?
Question:now and again when i wash the dishes, and come to reuse them they smell of WET DOG! this makes me bork, my friend also says the same. but why? we have a theory that it only happens when the window is open and the air gets to them when they are drying...whats it all about?

i found this too, and it really is an unpleasant smell. then i noticed that i could always smell this odour after i had been cooking EGGS! it doesn't matter how hot the water is, how clean it is or if you put the pots through a dishwash, the smell takes a couple of washes to go. so, i don't know why but eggs are the culprit.
if you would change the water abit more often and wash out your dish cloth it might smell a bit better.
Don't know what you mean.
There are few things that smell nicer than a wet labrador's belly! Bottle it and sell it.
wet dog smell comes from wet dogs, and what is bork?
That's weird, are your dishes hairy?
try rinsing them too ,because mine don't. That could be because I ain't using re-cleaned sewage water like what they use in London and probably England
Make sure your wash cloth and towel are hung up where air can circulate through them. Add a 1/4 teaspoon of bleach to your wash water and rinse the dish cloth completely when you are done.
What does bork mean?
They are not drying properly and stale dishwater is the cause of the smell.
Do you do a lot of borking?
it could be you are not rinsing them with hot enough water. If you rinse them with hot water then dry the well, you should´t have any smell
Keep your dog out of the sink when you are doing the dishes
If you use a "dish cloth" and it stays wet for any length of time they tend to get a bit smelly, and that will transfer to your crockery if you don't rinse it off under the tap before you put it in the drainer ! ! !
Wash your dish cloth often, with bleach. Rinse the dishes well and dry them off completely before putting them away.
