How do I get all the dirt cleaned up when I sweep my hard wood floors?
Question:I have just moved into my house and they have all hard wood floors. When I go to sweep them with my broom the dust and dirt just seem to escape. Is there a trick to being able to pick up all of the dust and dirt?

I have all laminate flooring and encountered the same problem, I now use a vacuum and not a broom to do the floors. I tried a dust mop and sweeping and it just makes the dust fly around. I purchased a small light weight vacuum Eureka The Boss Superlite. It works great and was only about 35.00. Then for touch ups I use Swiffer wet wipes. I do not think the swiffer with the tank is a good idea because this makes the floors too wet and it isn't good for wood or laminate. ( Manufacturer told me this ) . Have a great weekend!
I use the wet swiffer sweeper on my wood floors, they don't get that dull look on them, and gets all the dirt up really nicely!
I use a shop vac on my floors - it pulls the dirt & dust out of cracks better than an upright.
yes get a swiffer sweeper wet jet (around $20 at wally) they do a very nice job refills for the solution is about 4 bucks and for the pads 12 pack about 5.00
I always use the vacuum! I have all hardwoods in my house and when I sweep the dirt into the pile I use the hose of the vacuum to suck it all up so none of it gets left behind...It works very well!
Sweep it into a dusst pan. If you don*t have one cut a paper plate in half and use that to scoop up the dirt left behind.
Also use a damp (not wet) paper towel to pick it up.
Shop Vac always seems to do the best. You can get all the corners and even the cracks if you have any.
