What are the most effective methods of getting rid of cockroaches?

Question:i have encountered 3 cockroaches in my room in a span of 5 days and im getting really worried. what are the effective ways of getting rid of cochroaches for good?

Answers:
I lived in an apartment that was overrun by cockroahes. Here's what I did. Get boracic acid at your local pharmacy and mix it with icing sugar. Mix 1 measure of boracic acid with 2 measures of icing sugar. You can spinkle the mixture behind the stove and refrigerator, or any other place in you r apartment, or place small amounts on paper in strategic places around your apartment..

The boracic acid has no smell detectable by roaches, but the sugar draws them. They eat this mixture and eventually die. I've heard that roaches are cannibals, so living ones will eat the dead infected ones, become poisoned and die, and so on. Others will continue to eat the mixture. It was very effective in my situation. Clean up any dead roach bodies you find - not too attractive to see them lying around.

Be sure to keep the boracic acid and icing sugar well labelled in their containers since they look very much alike. Keep the mixture of sugar and boracic acid far out of reach of children and pets.

Hope this helps you and good luck in your battle.

Combat Roach Baits, work like a charm.
You asked the most effective method. Right?
It is :Call an Exterminator: For everyone you see there are 10 more somewhere in hiding to come out later. A professional will know how to combat the situation; however, know this, that if you live in an apartment, high rise, or unit that physically connects to another living group of people, your problem may be out of your control., You may get those on or in your property but they will come back from next door. Good luck.
Stepping on them usually kills them. ;D

They look for food and water. but their food can be cabinet paper, glue on paper bags, etc. so clean out everything, put bay leaves and garlic around the kitchen spices. Spray or put bait boxes under the sink, because they usually enter via water pipes.
The only permanent way is to tent your house & have a professional exterminator do it.

If the pro does not tent your house, they will only come back - it may take longer than if you used over the counter products, but tenting the home is the only permanent way.

The sad thing is that it does not really get rid of them, they go next door.
I tried foggers every 3 days & various brands of sprays & roach traps - - some roaches killed & some hid & returned later & some still hadn't hatched. Then I hired an exterminator for one treatment. I was frustrated - - still roaches, just not as many plus spent a lot of money.

Absolute, (one-treatment at my home) spray with a non-offensive odor get Bengal Gold roach spray. When I got it they didn't have a website.
