How do I get rid of an oil stain on my pants?
Question:I've put sprays that claim to get rid of it but nothing works. I also have washed them with hot water and nothing. They are light brown, and the stain is very visible. Any secrets?

now that you've already washed it, it may prove to be even more difficult to remove. You need a product that has some sort of emulsifier in it that will allow the water to actually mix with and wash away the oil (sort of like an eggs purpose in baking) so try using simple dish detergent, which has emulsifiers in it. good luck :o) hope the stain comes out.
I would use biz laundry booster. make a paste out of the powder with some water and rub it in from both sides. Also, you might try using one of the degreasing products like Goop.
I agree with Laura L. Try rubbing dish detergent directly on the stain then wash them as normal. It worked for me.
Since you've already washed them in hot water, there's probably nothing you can do.
For next time - take them to a good dry cleaner and tell them what kind of stain it is. They can work miracles sometimes.
since my husband has had many numerous stains that are oil based, I think I have the solution. I got it from my mother-in-law.
Go to the automotive department and purchase Castrol Super Clean Degreaser, it's in a purple bottle. Use this on your clothing (you may want to spot test for color fastness, but I have never had a problem). Let soak for a while then wash as normal. I have used this on jeans, t-shirts, flannels, dress pants, and carpeting. I find it works well.
Really want to know? Ok, try window cleaner, such as Windex. Weird huh? Well, it does work!
The next time u get oil stains on ur jeans. start ur wash, put 1 can of coke. Thats what I use Its always worked for me. I dont drink coke either, If it can take out grease stains, I dont want to know what it does to the stomach. good luck
