Carpet stain remover?
Question:i had family staying with me, in a bedroom with cream colored carpet, they were very immature and when i had them move they crushed dirt into my floor, and let their dog go as she pleased on the carpet, what are some products to get the stain and smell out? either spot remover or carpet machine shampooer cleaner? either one works
Answers:
Any grocery store should have it. Get the foam stuff that you spray on the spots and then brush them out. after it dries you just vacuum. Try it in a closet first to see if it will damage the color.
It may be worth your while to have a professional cleaner come in and do your carpets one time to get rid of pet odors. I have never found any DIY products that work even with a carpet cleaner.
for general spots use: 1 tsp. dawn or other dish det. w/o bleach or lotion to 1 qt. water. spray on and blot don't rub. use this in a machine as well. the shampoo they sell with the machine usually leaves a sticky residue requiring you to keep using it and making your carpet dirty more often. use 1tbsp. white vinegar to 1 qt. water to pet spots. blot. then spray the vinegar solution all over to deodorize. all else fails call a pro.
get a shampooer. in the water holder use laundry detergent and hot water. probably add about1/4 cup of laundry detergent with the water.then shampoo. try to use a shampooer that will suck the water back out.i do not buy those expensive shampoo products. if you think about it the laundry detergent gets stains out of your cloths it does work on carpet and doesn't cost as much. when i clean my carpet this is all i use. not only does it clean well it also smells so good. good luck.
