How do I clean my barbeque pit?

Question:I have noticed that over the last year, my grills on the pit are rusting.I t has not been getting wet so I sont know.I clean it with a wire brush after every meal?Any suggestions on getting rid of the rust?

Answers:
USE CLOREX,BRUSH IT/SCOUR IT WITH BRILLO PADS, THEN SOAPY WATER RINSE, AND ,CLEAN WATER SPRAY CLEAN

Use naval jelly (very corrosive!) ~
Scrub them with the wire brush or sometimes I use crumpled foil. If the rust doesn't come off replace them. And on the new ones make sure you allow them to become seasoned. Meaning that you rub cooking oil into the grates and let it burn for a few moments before cooking on them. Also don't scrub too hard or with soap and water with out drying it and re-seasoning the grill.
CLR will remove the rust.
