I use pinesol or lestiol sometimes mixed with a little shout stain remover, put on stain scrub with a hard toothbrush or the nail of your thumb*, rinse and repeat, a couple of times if you have to.
Also you can wet the stain then rub with a bar of white dial soap*
then use the brush or thumb nail. rinse and repeat. This works best on most stains.
The hairspray works because it contains alcohol, & you probably don`t want to use it because of the other chemicals. Try plain isopropyl alcohol.
If you are trying to get an ink stain out of a piece of fabric, a shirt for instance, you could use rubbing alcohol.
Make sure you have an old rag behind/under the piece of clothing you are trying to get the ink out of as it will bleed through & get on whatever is behind/under it.
I take cotton balls & get them wet with alcohol then work the spot until it is gone.
This may take a few applications depending on the size & severity of the ink stain.
I like to use alcohol and then detergent. You have to work at but it has worked for me. I hope for you also.
YES hairspray is good. Make sure it is aerosol though.any other will just sit there. Or you rubbing alcohol, either will work.
My suggestion is, to take it to the cleaners, I tried to use laundry spot cleaner & took it to laundry only to be told I should not use any thing from home. I damaged my best dress suit by a do it yourself remide. If you really like the outfit spend the extra money & have it done professionally, I wish I did!
