Fruit flies have invaded my cupboards..?

Question:...how do i get rid of them? I have cleaned it out cleaned off all the containers. I am not a dirty person. There is nothing for them to be after yet they are everywhere. I even put up those fly traps and it won't get rid of them all!

Answers:
This is a problem I once had (there was an apple tree outside my window.)
What I did was used my vacuum cleaner and just sucked them up with it everyday. It took a few weeks to get rid of them all but it worked (the eggs will keep hatching for a while.) Don't worry about them getting out of the vac they are very weak critters and die easily from the suction.

clean out the drains in your kitchen sink and bathroom with bleach and keep the plugs in. fruit flies breed in these places.
Fill several small bowls or cups with sugar water with a drop or two of dish soap in them. Place them all over your kitchen.

They'll be attracted to the sugar water, but the soap will cover their wings and they won't be able to fly away. They'll be drowned.
probably someone left rotting fruit somewhere and now you have friends. did you happen to do some drywall recently or did you buy the home cheap for some odd reason. or there is a dead gay person lying around--you now, the FRUITY kind
in an old house? May be something in the walls :|

I would keep doing what you are - cleaning and being sure there is no food anywhere that may breed them.

Plus when bringing in fruits/veggies give them a good washing in case they have eggs on them.
Leave a little red wine in a glass overnight. The little alcoholics will drink themselves to death and you can pour them done the drain in the morning.
This make take a few days or so, and will also cut into your wine stock but it is worth it.
Would a cup of cedar chips or shavings help?...maybe in a punctured sandwich bag? I hope my Idea helps you. :)
I know how you feel. I have them too. I think it's because I have a fruit bowl out that I keep bananas and other fruits in. Sometimes their attracted to garbage too( if you keep your garbage can inside)...they seem to be more prevalent in the summertime.
first identify the source, garbage cans, rotting bananas or fruit, damp drain, or damp coupards, etc.
these things are born from dampness and humidity...so whever this source is elimiate it first and foremost

Since you feel that they are coming from the coupards and you say you cleaned, them...did you also wipe down every piece, bottle, can, cup, plate, etc.? this needs to happen and it all needs to be dry extrmely well before returning.

As for getting rid og the current ones fill a small tiny container to the top with apple cider vinegar. They are drawn to it and will drown themselves. Change this daily until the problem is gone.
good luck.
The reality is that you may be battling these for a little while. My suggestion is no matter how clean we all claim to be there are always food particles that fall into places we don't always clean- sides of the stove under stove, under fridge ,dishwasher etc. sometimes it's best to do a complete over clean w- bleach (make sure you have a ventillated area to do this) open windows drink play fav. music and get scrubbing all pest problems solved!
These fruit flies are most likely gnats, they live of the soil from your house plant“s , and the dry roots. If you let your house plants dry out for 1 week , you will get rid of them
