Shiny Suit?
Question:I have an old suit and no money to buy a new one. Unfortunatley, the suit in question has become shiny due to over usage and cleaning. How can I get rid of the shine?
Answers:
Brush baking soda into the knit. It'll take some work, but once you've brushed all the powdery residue from your suit's fabric, the natural abrasive action of the calcium carbonate'll have eroded the surface sheen you've described. The shiny look'll diminish, and the texture will change, but the color doesn't fade.
paint it.
sorry but it's past it now. try second hand shop for a cheap alternative and don't iron it on a hot setting again!
nip into Asda and get another one for 19 pounds, better to have that then having a shinny suit
probably can't get rid of the shine, but I would try one of the black washing liquids on the market if it is washable
just get rid of it all together
In the future make sure that you iron your suit inside out!!
Getting rid of shine is very difficult. All I can advise is next time you buy a suit, either have it professionally dry-cleaned then you don't need to iron it. If it is washable, iron inside out or put a piece of material over your suit as you can then iron it on steam and you won't get any shine. Also if you hang the suit up after being worn it won't need ironing as creases will drop out. I don't know how broke you are but second-hand and charity shop sell nice ones cheap.
