I have tea stains on a pink pure woolen blanket. I've washed it in "Woolite", but am afraid to use bleach . .
Question:I don't want to replace the tea stains with white spots. Any ideas, spot-removal-experts?
Answers:
What color is it? Use OXYCLEAN that you mix in with laundry. also if it's white, you can use a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide directly on the stain. you can even try white vinager.
Wash with Tide with bleach in warm water in the washing machine on knits and delicates or by hand in the sink. You can put it directly on the spots it shouldn't hurt it. It is safe for colors you might have to let it soak a little bit. Hope this helps.
Try some of that hand cleaning stuff called GOOP that mechanics use to get the oil off their hands. It gets just about anything out of clothes of all kinds and won't strip the color. Just rub it on the spot and wait about 15 minutes then run it through the wash again and use something that smells really nice, like Downy, a whole capful. The down side is that it smells like gas.
Try pouring straight peroxide on it. Let it dry and if the stain is still there repeat the process. Launder as ususal. It does not hurt the material.
Presoak with dishwasher detergent.
Hi Sharon --
I know it has already been washed but try the Tide Pen spot remover. It takes out chocolate and lipstick. Of course, I guess it would depend on the size of the stain.
