I am looking for something that will clean rust stains of our granite floor?
Question:We are moving out of our workshop, and would like to leave it the way that we took it on.Unfortunalely some of our equipment
rusted underneath and has left rust stains on the granite tiles.
Any body got any ideas?
Answers:
It is safe to use Wink, CLR or even lemon juice and cream of tartar mixtures to clean rust off of granite. The key is to apply it, remove the rust quickly, neutralize the rust remover (with water rinsing) and dry the stone immediately. Wink and CLR will give you instanteous gratification, but the paste of cream of tartar and lemon juice takes a little effort.
I use cillit bang its excelent there is two types there is a crystal form that you put in water or a liquid for that you can get in two types, universal sain and drain and universal de greaser they work a treat i clean my house from top to bottom with them.
I think lemon juice or vinegar should work - try it with a little baking soda.
In this case I must agree with spud, cilint bang removes rust . My daughter moved into a flat, and the last people to have the flat left an empty gas bottle in the kitchen. When we moved it , RUST, so we tried this and it came off straight away , So give it a try
bleach or sulphuric acid leave it overnight
coca cola and bi carb soda, watch it fizzle and then clean it with a soft nylon brush in a circular motion for the stubborn marks and a cloth for the other marks.good for marble and ceramic tiles too. sprinkle the carb soda firstly then the cola, you can make a paste of it for the stubborn marks in a cup with one part cola to 4 parts bi carb soda. safe to use around children and pets,no fumes.
cilitbang
