Is washing the laundry at 30c, as good as at 40c?
Question:I use non biological washing powder for my laundry, usually washing at 40c, I've always thought the heat helps the cleaning, it is usually Ariel telling us to wash at 30c.
I don't use Ariel.

Its a green saving the planet thing etc etc, but best thing is to try it and see what you think.
Yes it is,the detergents these days can even wash clothes in cold water.
It does´t matter if you use a different washing powder , the clothes still get wash on a 30ºc using another brand, The colder the water, the softer your clothes are. Also when you hang them outside after washing in cold water, you will notice the different soft feel they have to them
yes
im not sure if washing at 30c kills all the bugs i always wash my bed linen and towels on a hot wash to prevent problems .
I have heard as I have a dust mite allergy you should wash sheets and towels at about 60c to get rid of them. Its annoying as want to do my bit for the enviornment or suffer from allergies!
My compromise is to do everything else at 30c and to be honest if its better for the environment then I am happy to reduce by 10c.
