I just spilled cooking oil on my cotton pair of pants. what is the best thing to do to get this off?

Question:I used a shout it out liquid gel to work it in the material, but will not know if it is completely gone til it is air dryed.

Answers:
SOAK IT IN COLD WATER, THAT SHOULD LIFT SOME OF IT AND THEN WASH IT IN COLD WATER AND DONT DRY IT TILL THE STAIN IS COMPLETELY OUT OR IT WILL SET IT AND THEN IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT

it should come out with a generous amount of shout.
tho if it doesnt come out then use Some, not alot of dish soap and wash again...
Quick, Quick, Add a little dish washing detergent, use warm water and rub in with finger tips. Then pop in the washing machine on a normal wash
Didn't you throw them in the washer? Air drying isn't going to clean them. They will just be sticky.
You may want to find some de-greaser and use a lot of elbo grease & an old toothbrush.
I would put the de-greaser on the spot, get the toothbrush & scrub in all directions, so you get through all the fibers of the material. It may take awhile but it seemed to always work for me. Afterwards, give it a normal washing.
I use a targeted stain remover for grease (comes in a little yellow bottle -- you can generally find them in the supermarket near the laundry detergents and stain removers). Apply the product, work it in, then you need to blot it with your finger against a clean towel. Tap, tap, tap with your finger against the spot until it transfers out of your pants and onto the towel. Then I apply Shout or SoilLove stain remover and let that sit for maybe 10-15 minutes; check the stain area, and then launder normally for that fabric. This works almost all the time - but don't wait! It has only failed when I find an OLD grease stain -- by then it's hard for anything to remove that.
Dawn dishwashing liquid will normally remove cooking oil even after the garment has been washed and dried, so if the Shout doesn't work, give Dawn a try. Spread a generous amount on the stain and rub it into the fabric. Wash as you normally would. Good luck!
