What's the best way to get the sticky stuff off of a mirror (from the price tag or store sticker)?
Question:I have tried a couple different things and nothing is working.help!
Answers:
goo gone really works the best, but if you want an at-home remedy, you can use anything oil based. just make sure you let it sit on the sticky stuff for a couple of minutes.
some things you can try are: peanut butter, cooking oil, lotion, baby oil
-edit-
acetone and alcohol works too like others have said, but you have to be super careful because it can harm the surface you're working with.
Avon's skin-so-soft bath oil does at great job.
Try rubbing alcohol or apple cider vinegar. Pour either one on a cotton ball & rub the sticky residue off. I have better luck with rubbing alcohol, to be perfectly honest with you.
Razor blade? If not try mineral oil. or even vegtable oil.
Lighter Fluid or WD 40.
Make sure you have your window open for ventalation because the benzene is toxic.
nail polish remover.. acetone type, use a cotton ball rub in circular motion.. or goo gone or any type of cooking oil.. let it sit on the object and sticker will slide right off.works everytime.
goo gone... you can get it at any retail drug store
i use a razor blade.
Warm water and a washcloth or warm soapy water rub with a rubber glove until it comes clean. There's a product called goo be gone which should help.
simple ammonia, fingernail polish remover the acetone kind is fastest, theres a product called goof off for glue removal etc.. costs about 1 or 2 dollars... and a flat blade razor can remoove it simply too if used carefully...
Remove the stickers and clean up the residual glue by wiping the area with acetone-based nail polish remover. The same method can be used for removing stickers and sticky residue from metal sufaces.
First wipe some nail polish remover (if you don't have that use rubbing alcohol) on the sticky spot, and let it sit for a few minutes. Then take a razor blade or even a sharp knife, and carefully try and scrape off the sticky spot.
The nail polish remover loosens up the stickiness a lot! I hope this helps!
Razor blade. your thumbs will kill you by the time you are done, but it leaves behind no residue.
Goo gone. Works great. I had a piece of duct tape on a window from the previous tenant and I took the tape off and it left a nasty residue on the window. I used Goo gone and a little elbow grease and it came off.
wd40 will remove it.
Goo Gone
Try windex or baby oil.
My mom has always told me to use SSS (Skin So Soft) from Avon. They still sell it and it works GREAT! I don't use anything else. It doesn't get messy either.
citrus oil, put some on a dry cloth and rub in a circular motion.
