What is a good brand of washing machine?

Check ou Whirlpool, particularly the Duet. You can find similar front-loaders, But I'm partial to Whirlpool Duet. It has a large drum which can hold equivalent to one and a half loads compared to a top-loader. Uses much less water, detergent (¼ cup) and bleach (1/3 cup) per load. Allthe laundry comes out clean.

I'm partial to Kenmore appliances, bought at Sears. Obviously Kenmore is Sears own brand name, and the machines may come for different manufacturers, but Sears does a good job of selecting very good machines to sell under their brand name.
