How do i get candel wax off my pants?

Question:I just bought a brand new pair of 4 way stretch dance pants that cost me a fortune and I accidentally spilt a melted candle wax all over them. I was hoping there is a safe method I can do to get the wax off my pants with out ruining them and without having to send it to the overpriced dry cleaners.

Answers:
Try putting them in the freezer overnight, then take them out and immediately try to "flex" the area with the wax by pulling the pants over the sharp edge of a table or counter, back and fourth, to break up the wax and then scrape as much off as possible with a dull knife.

After that, go to the store and buy candle wax dissolver and test it on a small area to make sure it doesn't hurt the fabric. Use this to remove the remaining bits of wax. I got mine at Wal Mart.

Use the hot iron and paper bag or towel trick only as a last resort, since the extra heat will simply drive the wax further into the fabric, making it harder to get the last little bits out.

try putting a damp rag on the spot and then a warm to hot irom (not too hot) the iron will melt the wax without burning the fabric. However, be warned that a lot of candles contain oil as well, so if the wax comes off, I would spray it with shout b4 washing.

Good Luck
use a brown paper bag and an iron. Set the iron to a safe heat for the pants then put the bag over the wax and iron them. Keep moving the paper bag and eventually it will all go away.
Use an iron on a medium low setting with several paper towels between the iron and the pants. As the iron heats up the wax on the pants, the paper towels will absorb the wax. You really have to be careful doing this, I recommend at least 4-5 layers of paper towels and watch for it to soak to the iron, you don't want that either. Change the paper towels often, and don't let the pants get too hot, or it will affect the performance of your stretch pants.
Just pour hot water over it, (you might have to peel away at it) then wash it after.

Oh- that way, you don't have to ruin an iron.
Candle wax

Use a dull knife to scrape oft as much as possible. Place fabric between two blotters or facial tissues and press with warm iron. Remove color stain with non-flammable dry cleaning solvent. Wash with detergent in the hottest water safe for fabric

Good Luck !
Curious has the right answer, always freeze wax first and try to scrape off as much wax as possible
and if you DO succeed in removing the wax, and because some candles DO contain oils, I suggest spot cleaning the area (after wax removal) with Dawn dish soap. good luck!
Th ebest way to remove candle wax off of fabric is to place a couple of paper towels between the layer of pants. Place more paper towels on top of wax. Run a hot iron over paper towels. Replace paper towels with clean ones till wax is gone.
try putting a piece of ice on the wax. it might harden, then crack off!
