I recommend Resolve Multi-Fabric cleaner because it won't leave a water ring on the upholstery and it won't void most manufacturer's fabric warranties.
I use dish soap on a wet rag, of cousre I squeeze out most of the water before I start. I just rub it all over, let it air dry. You might want to start on the bottom corner in the back for a test, don't use any harsh chemicals.
I just bought a new micro fiber sofa and when it's time to clean it I'm hiriing a pro.
