What is the best way to clean porcelain tile?
Question:I just got a new floor down stairs 20x 20 porcilian tiles but its not the shiny kind, its more porous like stone or travertine. They did seal the grout and stone and I was wondering if anyone knows whats best to mop it with. soap and water or what. thank you for your help Ive only had carpet or linolium before.
Answers:
A damp mop (just water) will work fine for mopping. You can also buy ph balance neutral tile celaners at the tile store or a big box store. This will keep you from stripping the sealer off of your grout.
(Vinegar will take up the sealer off the grout eventualy, as will tile celaners you find at the grocery store.)
It's also a good idea to sweep or vaccuum the floor regualrly, and you shouldn't have to mop as often. I usually vaccum or sweep, and then damp mop the areas that are soiled. Rarely do I need to mop the whole area.
We used just regular floor cleaners.
bi carb soda and white vinegar, safe to use around children and pets. sprinkle the carb soda firstly then the vinegar wait for it to fizzle then use wet cloth or mop to remove.
