How can you clean melted plastic out of an oven?
Question:My mom was watching my kids and she thought I got some new kind of cookie sheet that looks like plastic :oP. Well it was my plastic cutting board and it melted all over the oven. I have a cleaning person coming on Friday and she said that she will do her best. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this kind of thing? I REally REally do not want to have to get a new oven, the one we have is only 6 months old!

Unfortunately, I had an experience with plastic melting in the oven. It turned into an insurance claim for almost $9000.
The adjustor said the fumes were toxic to children and the whole house had to be cleaned and the oven had to be replaced. This happened in my daughter's house and I will never live it down.
no offense, lol, just had to laugh at this one.. I'm sorry that really stinks. Try a paint scraper maybe? Or do the oven's self cleaning thing with all the windows open and leave the house while it's doin it? I don't know... :(
