How can i get that yucky mildew smell out of my laundry? I left clothes in the washer for 3 days and yuck!?
Question:I tried re-washing but the smell is still there.
Answers:
Wash them with baking soda and vinegar, then follow with a regular wash.
This will also take the smell out the the washing machine.
If they are whites then use bleach, if colors you need to use oxyclean, and plenty of soap, but you have grown a mold and you need to kill it before wearing the close. good luck
you can't leave clothes in water for several hours let alone 3 days.
Use hot water and a liquid detergent, try Tide or Gain. Then in the dryer, use a scented fabric softener sheet (use a couple). Suavitel is a strong product that works really well.
baking soda
re-wash them with some downey
She right I have learned that if you leave your clothes in the washer for more than a few hours your clothes can pick up a nasty stank. Bleach is the only thing that works for me but it also eats away at the fabric.
just rewash them that's what i do
rewash with vinegar and/or baking soda to neutralize the stench.
hope this helps.
I think using vinegar is the best alternative. White is best. If you can hang your clothes out on a clothesline the fresh air will help to refresh the clothing also.
I found a product at Target called "Kids N Pets"...I used it as a laundry pre-soak (soaked for about 1-2 hours) and then washed as usual.
Soooo happy, now my towels don't smell when they get wet!
