Is there an environmentally friendly way to clean the toilet?
Question:strange question, i know. but i really don't like the idea of flushing all that bleach into the water. does vinegar work? any other suggestions?
Answers:
I clean my toilet with :
Baking Soda.
Baking soda and vinegar.
Hydrogen peroxide.
Those work well for me. Ecover and Seventh Generation both making cleaning products that I use around the house on various surfaces and in the toilet, as well.
I'm sensitive to various chemicals and really don't want to flush harsh chemicals into the water system.
Mainstream stores like Target and Wal-Mart are starting to carry more earth/health friendly products. Your local health food stores will have several options, as well.

hit on bathroom cleaners. there's a recipe for a toilet cleaner that requirs baking soda and some other stuff that's okay for the enviroment.
Actually, I went back and looked at it and ALL it requires is baking soda. There's other enviromentally friendly cleaners you can make for your house too. check it out.
buy a new one!
The chlorine evaporates from the water and doesn't hurt anything! It's NOT a greenhouse gas! :-O
Take a poo in a neighbors swimming pool! THAT has plenty of chlorine in it! *laughter* Bleach IS chlorine, basically, after all. Quit being a crybaby and clean the toilet! ;-)
In addition to the suggestions already posted, you could use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.
Baking soda..=)
