How do I remove hair dye from white painted wood?
Question:I was coloring my hair with dark hair dye. It got on my white painted wood cabinets. Can I remove this or do I have to strip the paint, sand, prime and repaint cabinets?
Answers:
Okay, before you go through the agony of sanding and painting, get a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and give that a shot. It has removed some pretty impossible marks from painted surfaces for me.
with an axe
Me too, paint over it.
Sand it off and repaint.
Try hydrogen peroxide or bleach.
you can't really, I suppose. If it's light hair dye, then paint over it. But if its dark, then use sandpaper to get the hair dye off (keep rubbing until you see wood). Then start painting!!
Use CIF it will come off.! If it doesnt the first time around it will eventualy. Vim will also help.
Depends on the paint, but i did once use bleach on a clothe and it worked, just be careful not to drip on carpet or clothes!
I have some experience with this .If a commercial cleaning product dosen't work.Just find the matching paint and paint over it.(no need to strip the paint)
use bleach
Hi dear if your white cabinets are painted with water paint than you can wash,
and wash off the hair dye from the cabinets, but if your cabinets are painted with oil paint all you need to do is to just repaint you cabinets.
if it has been there for a while, try magic eraser. If not you have to touch up the paint.
rub it over with sand paper and repaint it
citrus oils will remove it, try orange oil, dilute it with a bit of water in a spray bottle, alternatively you could try bi carb soda and white vinegar.
wipe over the stain with bleach
definately try the mr clean magic eraser first and if that doesnt work try spot painting
