How can I get the stinky smell out of my sports shoes? I'm serious.?

The best thing to do if possible is to wash them in the washing machine and set outside to dry (unless you have the rack that inserts into the dryer).
The other is to remove the insoles that are in your shoes and replace them with the new anti-bacterial insoles. You can buy them anywhere - drug stores, pharmacies, Walmart etc.
You can use sprays and powders they sell in drug stores but then the residue will be in contact with your feet which must be bad. The best way is to hang them by their laces upside-down in the bathroom over the bath, light some incense in an incense burner and place it underneath the shoes. Make certain your bathroom is well ventilated too. Do this a few times and you get deodorised shoes without chemicals.
If you throw them in the washing machine and let them air dry in the sun, that would be best (could only assume), add vinegar to the water. otherwise, baking soda, cat liter, odor eaters?? I just saw a thing on dr. phil, if your feet are stinky, soak them in prepared cooled tea (i think any kind-cheapest is fine) for 30minutes/night for a week. the girl that tried it said she tried everything and this was the only thing that worked for her. hope something here helps.
