Question:what are the little black beads that are on houses and the windows called that you have to scrape off with a blade and what are they from? and no it's not fly poop!

Where do you live? I ask this because its important to know to give you an answer. It could be from some type of tree or plant life or from a factory/foundry nearby that is strewing pollutants in the air.
I have to go along with Michael it could be a factory or some insect or tree sap.
