How to get rid of toilet stains?...?
Question:I've tried LimeAway, CLR and bleach. Anything else you know of?
Answers:
Lysol toilet bowl cleaner.=)
vinegar. pour the bottle into the bowl, swish it around, then let it set. after about a half hour, swish with a brush and it should go away.
Then pour in laundry bleach and let set. Then swish again with the brush.
Many people say to use a pumice stone. It will scratch the bowl and make the problem worse in the long run. The scratches will give the hard water a place to cling to.
We have very hard water - a lot of calcium. To clean it, I turn the water off to the toilet and flush to get the water level completely below the stain and then keep the stains wet with CLR. Since all of the stains are under the rim and right at the water line, I have to keep dabbing on CLR. Once the calcium deposits have softened up enough, I carefully scrape it off.
Degreaser works for me.
the first answer...vinegar is the best. it will even remove metal snake marks left behind from unclogging. use a whole gallon jug. don't be shy.
COCA COLA. It'll work. Just pour the soda into the toilet, let stand for about an hour, swish with a toilet brush with some cleanser.
Believe it or not-Coke Cola will eat away all stains. Do not use Diet it won't work. Get regular coke and pour in the bowl and let it soak for an hour or so. Flush and it should sparkle. If it's heavily stained, I'd use a 2 liter bottle. Good luck!
I just had the same problem, so I look on the net. The best solution I found was to turn off the water at the toilet, flush a couple of times to get the water out of the tank. Then with gloves, remove any water left in the bowl. My stain was in the bottom of the bowl. Pour Vinegar in the bowl, let it sit for a hour or two, come back and brush and it should all be gone. It's usually caused by mineral deposits. Turn back on the water let the tank fill and flush. Should take care of the problem. If you have a few areas that don't exactly come clean, when you brush just use a little elbow grease. Mine is good as new now.
If the stains aren't too bad try Efferdent tablets or any type denture tablets put a few in and let sit for a few hours.
denture cleaner throw a few in there it will bubble and clean right off
Dollar General sells a product call The Works for the toilet. It really works. Also one for the Tub/Shower. Walmart carries it as well.
