My dishwasher leaves a cloudy film on my dishes. Is there any reasonably priced product that really works??

Mine was doing that for a while. It turns out that the water in the hot water tank was not hot enough to clean dishes. It would heat the greasy stuff just enough to scatter the grease to the other dishes but not enough to wash it off.
I suggest checking your hot water heater before buying new stuff.
Put a cup of vinegar in the dishwasher and run it (Empty) on a normal wash cycle. You can aslo wash your glasses with the vinegar it should remove the cloudiness
I put a cup of vinegar in the rinse cycle. Works great!
Put a cup of white vinegar in the final rinse.
Also works great in the wash machine as a final rinse. The smell goes away pretty fasst.
clean your dishwasher like the other lady mentioned and buy good quality products.i like the elecrasol tabs or cascade with dawn tabs for the dishwasher, very affordable at wal-mart or any dollar store.good luck.
or you could try Jet-Dry it's found in any supermarket.
Good Luck.
Jet dry !
I just had my dishwasher serviced. The repairman told me if the glasses come out cloudy it's from using too much dish detergent. Try cutting back and see if that helps. She also told us that glass magic (she said its available next to the dishwashing detergent( is really good to add to your wash cups, as it will make glasses sparkle. Hope that helps!
Another thing that works is to add a few tablespoons of 20 Mule Team Borax to the wash load. I have had to do this when my dishes came out cloudy and with a film build-up. It cleans them right up.
If none of these other ideas work, you have etched the glass and the cloudy look will never go away. Cutting down on detergent with new dishes will prevent the etching from happening.
