Can you take letters off a jersey without ruining it?

Question:I bought an old style Detroit Pistons jersey, but I want to take the letters off the back. Is it possible without ruining it?

If the letters are sewn-on you could, but it would ruin it. My suggestion would be to just buy one that you could personalize. I don't think that you could personalize the throwback(old style) jerserys, but it's still cool!
