Dyson DC20 Animal or.?
Question:We're looking for our next vaccuum cleaner, and looking at the DC20. Is there any alternatives that do the same job but cheaper?
Answers:
I have the Dyson allergy.
It is nearly two years old and hasn't lost any suction. I rang up the Dyson helpline as my floor tool was broken and within five days they had sent me a replacement one for free(would have been £35 if not under guarantee).
When I bought mine they had two year guarantees but since July 2006 they have five years.
So even tough they are a little bit more expensive you get rewarded with a longer guarantee.
I have had cheaper makes of hoovers and some of them didn.t last a year.
I did used to have the vax 2 in 1 that you could use for ceaning up and washing carpets. This was a good hoover but I wish I'd kept it for just washing carpets as you only got one pipe with it and once you had used it for washing it took ages for the pipes to try out.
I had this hoover for about 6 years before it broke so it was worth the money aswell.
I have always had a Dyson and have always had pets. I have got a "Dyson all floors" and it is brilliant. Don't waste your money and buy a special pet one, when the dual cyclone dysons are just as powerful and do the same joy. The only difference with the pet dyson, is that you get a few extra tools. I paid £230.00 for my dyson about 2years ago. If you look around, you may be able to get one abit cheaper. Mind you, that is cheaper than the animal dyson anyway. Hope this helps.
the Dysons are pretty good and powerful vacuums, but I would not spend that kind of money on one because of a couple of things I do not like: On some throw rugs they suction too hard and make a god awful noise. Also they are so thick that they can't go under hardly any furniture. I'm not too crazy about the hose either. I like the way it's not hanging on the side and pieces falling off, but it's kinda heavy dealing with and awkward. I do like that the suction is great!
I do like the Cirrus (I think that's correct sp), the Electrolux O3 is great! It's a canister, but you just have to handle the hose to put it behind chairs etc and clean. The Sanitaire commercial one is very powerful. I also like the Hoover WindTunnel. If I had my choice, the Electrolux. Good Luck!
i own my own cleaning company and i hate Dyson's there more about image than quality . i love Henry, but meile are a great make to
I'm looking for a new vacuum cleaner too - Morphy Richards do a range designed for pet hair (available at Argos) and they seem a reasonable price. I have two cats, and it seems to be an attachment called a "turbo brush" we need!
I've found nothing but horror stories about Dysons, and having used one in the past they're not that easy to manoevre (or fit under the furniture as someone else pointed out!)
The best vac I have ever had, and that includes Dyson is a Sebo.
They are German, excellent quality, well designed, will work when flat going under furniture. Some models come apart to work as a hand vac for doing the stairs/sofa/car. They cost about £180 on line but £225 in John Lewis.
They are the only vacuum that complies with asthma regulations and are used by most hospitals.
Yes buy a Vax Turbo force Extra 1850 watt from comet for about £100 it has rear wheels and glides over carpets and hard floors, its also bagless and has a turbo tool for doing chairs cur tins etc... oh i need a lie down now
