Can you put flip flops in the dishwasher on the top rack to clean them if on rinse only??
Question:I once heard that you could put flipflops on the top rack of a dishwasher and get them clean. I just wanted to know if that was true.

Yes, just be sure to take them out before the drying cycle starts or they could melt.
Never tried that but they get pretty clean in the wash machine.

i've NEVER heard that but it sounds like a GREAT idea!! there should be no reason why it won't work, i bet they would even withstand the heated cycles as long as they're on the top. i've put smaller plastic items in the dish washer like bottles and nipples and such. i'm going to try it! thanks. :-)

My preference- I do not want any flip flops in my dishwasher! I do wash flip flops and tennis shoes in my washing machine with a load of clothes. Does good job.
Here is my best tip for cleaning flip flops. My sister bought flops in every color from Old Navy and this trick made them look brand new.
Make a paste with Biz powdered laundry booster and water. Smear it all over the flops and let them sit for a bit, then use a sponge to rub them a bit. Rinse well and they are good as new! Oh, and wear gloves because the Biz can be a bit rough on your hands.
Why is it called a dishwasher ? If you must have clean flipflops put them in washing machine.Would you eat off plates that were washed in a dishwasher ??...Liz.
Just throw them in with the darks in your laundry. If that isn't enough spend a couple of bucks.
I tried it once and it didn't work for me. Get a bleach pen and use the scrub end to cover the top of the flip flop then let it sit for a bit and then with an old tooth brush scrub it off under hot water. Works wonders when they are really dirty.
