How can I get mineral deposits off my plastic shower doors?
Question:I have hard water and it has left mineral deposits on my sliding plastic shower door and on the metal frame. What is the best way to get it off? Please no name brand cleaners, I live in Germany and they don't have the same brands at the stores here. Thank you!
Answers:
White vinegar and lemon juice are weak acids, and will remove hard water deposits from glass, rust stains from sinks, and tarnish from brass and copper.
Just try either vinegar or lemon juice and see which one works best for you.
I use a cleaning solution that is called Grease lighterning and it is the greatest. Spray and then leave on for 30 min and then wipe off.
Have you tried vinegar? It breaks down mineral deposits.
Since you're in Germany & I'm not, I can't give you off brand names of cleaners you can buy. Go to a hardware store & ask them what products they recommend. Here we use Limeaway & CLR...
At one time in my life I used to clean homes, and the senior citizens would have the plastic shower doors as you describe. I used Windex many times with a scrub sponge and it finally came off. You probably know that Widnex has vinegar in it. Vinegar used to be the cleaning agent of olden times. So I'd suggest vinegar, and maybe baking soda because baking soda used to be used as toothpaste (a natural grit).
I use CLR and it works really good for me.
