how about soap.
Washing powder, it works a treat
After scraping away as much of the grease, put it in a garbage bag with a cup of ammonia, and let it sit outside all night. The fumes will make it easy cleaning it in the morning. Chow
Baking powder /soda. For the inside of your chip pan add enough warm water to cover the stains, add 1/2 tablespoons off the powder and leave for 10 min´s, then wash with dish soap. This method is great for burnt pot´s and pans
chip pans are a fire hazard buy a deep fat fryer and the stainless steel type most of it can be washed in the dishwasher EXCEPT THE ELECTRICAL PART .
I thought those old chip pans were extinct..they were so dangerous.buy yourself an electric one...they are much safer.
Elbow grease and lots of it. (I don't think Tesco sell it though).
Dawn (the soap) works wonders
A BIG FAT LEMON ! slice in half, scrub the whole thing with the lemon (or Lemon's), use the peel to scrub too (the oil's in there), then use "Dawn" dish soap, and "Scotch brite" (Plastic steel wool).
Caustic Soda, but do it in somebody else's house while they are on holiday it rots all sorts of stuff.
If you have a dishwasher, stick it in there and when it comes out scrub the pan with wire wool while the crusty old oil is still soft. If not, soak it in boiling soapy water for a while. I've also tried using Fairy Power Spray which I have found to be pretty good. But basically it just takes some hot water, scrubby stuff like wire wool or a good scouring pad and a bit of effort!
Soak the pan in really hot water with Dawn dish soap added to it. You may have to let it set a day or two but Dawn is a great degreaser & is highly recommended when washing dishes by many plumbers.
If it is a heat on the hob type, and you know someonewith a dish-washer, ask them to put it and the basket through the machine for you first. Makes the job much less unpleasant.
washing up liquid and very hot water, leave to soak til the water has cooled down abit then scrub with a scourer, then rinse.
soap and water the hottest you can get and let i soak then wash it out if there is greese residue take a sos pad and start scrubbing
Hi,i soak mine in boiling water with washing up liquid.Empty it out & use scourers it takes ages but is worth it.Especially when you see the gleaming pan.Good Luck
