Clothes shrinking in the laundry?

Question:I want to shrink some pants that are too big for me. I hear that washing in hot water followed by drying in high heat will do the trick. however, I dont' want the hot water to fade the colors. Is there any way around this?

Answers:
COLD WATER, HOT DRYER

Yes, just wash them turned inside out, also a slightly higher temp whilst washing them. The main thing is, you must keep checking on them when they are in the dryer, like this you won´t shrink them too much. hope this help´d a little
Wash them inside out in hot water by themselves. Then dry them by alone on high heat. Depending on the material they should shrink quite a bit. Good Luck
