Why is there a sour smell in my washing machine?

Question:Seems like when I wash my clothes my washing machine doesn't smell fresh. I AM NOT leaving the clothes in the machine for a prolonged period of time after washing them.

Answers:
I can suggest this. Run your machine on the hottest setting & add a cup of bleach , do the same again but this time add a cup of vinegar, this will give your machine a good clean inside

did you check where you add the liquid softener..mold start very easily there and need to be cleaned. try to run a your last load with some bleach.. good luck!
if you have a septic system, that may be your problem. the smells coming into your washing machine from the septic. you may need to have it pumped out.
Wash a load of just hot water and vinegar, that will clean out all the little holes and make thm fresh...
after using your machine wipe down the drum and door then leave the washer door open over night. this should eliminate the smells.
