Do you have to use the same carpet cleaner the directions tell you to use?
Question:I was given a Hoover carpet cleaner and the directions say to "only use Hoover brand carpet cleaning solution". I had a Bissle so I have the Bissle brand solution. Why do I have to use 1 with 1 and can't use 1 with 2? If I do use The Bissle in the Hoover, what's going to happen to the machine?

No, use what you want. Sometimes a few drops of dishwashing liquid will do in a fix. I use some brand from Wal-Mart mostly, but I just cannot think of the name.
Of course they want you to use their brand. But any brand will work.
