How do you get stains out of the bathtub? What's the best product to buy?

Question:I just moved to an apartment. Bleach does not work. Any ideas?

Answers:
White vinegar will remove most bathtub stains. Dump 2 or 3 gallons of it in the tub and let it soak(do not add any water). can be splashed up on the sides of the tub if there are stains there. Mostly they are hard water stains. Rinse the tub well after you drain the vinegar out.

I usually try not to brutally murder anyone in my tub in the first place. That way I don't have any permanent stains.
I think it's called The Works it's pretty tuff stuff. or that bottle of rust remover stuff in the little brown bottle that I totally can't think of the name right now.
comet..
Try comet first if that does not work try Scrub Free with bleach it is awesome
Mr. Clean Eraser works very well.
Try one of those magic erases from mr clean they can clean almost anything! I use them to clean my tub everytime
CLR works very well for soap/hardwater/lime/rust /shampoo stains etc, home depot sells it.
I use BarKeepers Friend. That stuff gets everything out of porcelain, formica, and even tile. It's in the laundry isle at Wal-Mart near the Comet. It comes in a gold canister in powder form. Just make a paste and rub it into the tub with an abrasive pad and it should come right out. Works for hard water marks and even rust.
Try a product on the market called CRL. It removes lime build up which can hold dirt and stains. We had tenants that didn't clean the tub for over a year. CLR did a good job. I have also used it in toilets to remove hard water scum.
try an Ajax type of product sprinkle it in the tub with plenty of water sponge it on all the suffice with the stain let sit for 1 or 2 hours then scrub clean should work
Depending on what kind of tub you have, if it is fiberglass don't use this product. Otherwise I found that an SOS pad works really well.
It would help to know what the stain was but I have recently tried the Kaboom for tubs and it worked great! It got stains out of my tub but just do not let it dry just spray on and wait a few minutes and wipe off! Hope this helps :)
Soft scrub w/ bleach works really well, use a scratch free green brillo pad and apply... It should clean the stains off the tub, no problem... Good luck...
