Help my kid destroyed my new couch...?
Question:With a green marker - not a permanent one but it's not coming out. My couch is some sort of normal material. I've tried scrubbing it with carpet stuff and scrubbing it with a magic eraser. Now I have smeary green and a big water stain around it. I just got this couch which was very expensive for my little budget and I'm desperate to fix it! Is there a way, or is it trash??

If you have a Chem-Dry in your area, call them out to clean the couch. They work wonders.
See if the cushion covers zip off and take them to the dry cleaners. It's cheaper than a new couch.

Awwh, man... I have three kids and know your pain. If you have a HOME DEPOT in your area, RUN there and get this product called "Resolve"... I have used it for EVERYTHING from carpets to upholstery to a quart of MOTOR OIL that spilled on the back seat of my car. IT WORKS.
Let us know how it works for you - I figure if it takes out MOTOR OIL, magic marker should be a cakewalk! ;)
If the stain is ink, you can spray hairspray on it to remove it. You may have to do this several times, but it really does work. Spray on a good bit of hairspray, scrub, dab and repeat until all the ink is gone.
I'm not sure about stains from highlighters, so you may want to try it on a very small spot if it's a highlighter.
Try a dilute solution of OxyClean on an inconspicuous part of your couch. If it doesn't pull the color off, try it over the stain.
lestoil works on paint spots.
Can you afford having a carpet and upholstery cleaner come in and do the job for you? If so, stop trying yourself because the various cleaning agents may be making it worse by putting down various chemical profiles.
Scrubbing is spreading the stain, just blot. You don't want to grind the stain into the fabric.

If u can't afford to have someone come in and clean it try oxy-clean. It took up foot prints done in tattoo ink on new carpet. U can also get a re-chargable hand held carpet cleaner 4 about $30, definitely a must have with kids.
