How do I get rid of maggots in my carpet? Do they really die without moisture?

Question:This morning I woke up and found a few maggots in my carpet, I know the came from the garbage outside (my door is not sealed well) I called my landlord and he told me that they will die without moisuture is that true? HELP PLEASE! They are sooooo gross!

Answers:
OOOH! GROSE! Throw that carpet out you could get major diseases from that . Moisture or no moisture they are there. Tell landlord new carpet a must! Or get a new landlord

I would absolutely demand that your carpet and the door be replaced. Maggots are basically baby flies, and if you don't have a maggot problem, you will have a fly problem. Plus, they carry a lot of bacteria and viruses. It sounds like a problem for your landlord, not you!!
