Why is my dryer squeaking?

Question:I was doing laundry last night and my dryer started squeaking. How do I stop it from squeaking?

Answers:
it most likely just needs a little lube on the moving parts. if you're brave enough, open up your dryer (usually the back) and apply some WD40 to the moving parts. otherwise, call the maytag man :-)

More than likely the dryer is squeking because it is unlevel. The best thing to do is to make it level if that doesnt work you might want to have an expert check it cause it might be internal
it is probably the belt
When my dryer squeaks it's because a sock got caught in it. If you open up the back a little bit you can pull it right out if that is the problem.
Either a belt problem or it is just getting old and needs oiling.
